Hyundai’s smallest SUV, the all-new Venue, is finally available in South Africa.
You can look forward to a proper write-up, including an adventure drive in the February edition of the magazine, but for now we’ll give you the basic specification and pricing.
The line-up consists of five variants, all powered by the same 88kW/172Nm three-cylinder turbocharged engine. Hyundai claims it will only consume 6.5 litres/100km when mated to the six-speed manual, while the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic consumes 6.9 litres/100km.
The range kicks off with the entry-level Motion, while the Fluid fits in the middle. The range-topping model is known as the Glide. The high-end model will only be available with that seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The entry-level specification is already generous, as it includes two airbags, ABS, EBD, stability control, air-conditioning, keyless entry and a radio with Bluetooth connectivity.
The Fluid adds curtain airbags, alloy wheels, parking sensors, reverse camera, partial leather interior, cruise control and a touch screen interface with Apple CarPlay.
The range-topper includes headlamps that move with the steering, LED daytime lights and taillamps, climate control and a push-button start.
A 3 year/45 000km service plan and 7 year/200 000km warranty is included in the price.
