It’s expected to be made official at this year’s LA Auto Show or next year’s Detroit Auto Show that Hyundai are moving forward with the Santa Cruz bakkie and it will share its platform with the Tucson, reports Motor Trend.
“We have made the decision,” said president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America, Dave Zuchowski. “We have not made the announcement.”
Not much has been revealed about the model’s design but there’s a strong chance that it won’t differ too much from the original concept.
The Hyundai Santa Cruz is likely to be introduced in 2018 as a 2019 model, in the US. There is no word on other possible markets yet.
